The Hope Alliance is a humanitarian nonprofit that gives hope through empowerment. We strive to assist people in development, not relief.

In 2015, we are continuing many needed projects internationally and locally here in Utah. Our vision and dental projects have been hugely successful, and the demand from both our in-country and local partners continues to expand.

  • In Park City, UT, The Hope Alliance offered three free vision clinics at the People’s Health Clinic this year and were able to offer 35 low-income people brand new prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses.
  • Earlier this month, we offered our first vision clinic to the refugee population in the City of South Salt Lake through Promise South Salt Lake and we served 73 people from over 13 different countries.
  • The Hope Alliance is also partnering with Moran Eye Center to offer vision care for the Navajo Nation in southern Utah. 2016 will be filled with regular visits that complement the work that Moran has been doing in three communities on the reservation.
  • In Peru, our vision clinics provide basic care such as eye exams while also teaching preventative measures. During the past 16 years in Peru, we have supplied more than 55,000 pairs of new and/or recycled prescription eyeglasses to people in need that live in some of the poorest areas.
  • In Guatemala, we returned three times to continue our vision program for more than 4,000 people with no other access to vision care.
  • In 2015, The Hope Alliance along with 166 volunteers have distributed over 6,000 glasses both internationally and locally.
  • Our work in Haiti continues to span a broad-spectrum of services: medical, dental, clean water, safe homes, midwifery training, micro-enterprise (sewing, jewelry, welding and more), education, and orphanage support. Kym Meehan continues to lead change in all of the lives she touches in Haiti.

Your Live PC Give PC contributions will directly help with our efforts in the next year. We have humanitarian expeditions planned for India/Nepal, Guatemala, Peru and Haiti and local vision clinics in Park City, Salt Lake City and on the Navajo Nation.

A little bit of “Hope” goes a long way…

  • $15 helps purchase 5 pairs of reading glasses or non-prescriptive sunglasses.
  • $30 helps provide a clean water system to a family in Haiti.
  • $50 purchase brand new prescription eyeglasses at our local Utah-based vision clinics.
  • $75 helps provide clean birthing kits for local midwives.
  • $150 can pay for books, a uniform and tuition to educate a child in Haiti for one year.

Without generous supporters like you, none of these programs could occur and thousands of people would not be able to break the devastating cycle of poverty. Thank you, again, from The Hope Alliance and on behalf of all the individuals and families that we help! We are all truly blessed to have the support of so many wonderful people.
