Valley is the largest and most respected provider of mental health care in Summit county.
It is hard to decide where to invest hard-earned dollars when selecting your charity of choice. Who are the ones in need? The poor, the downtrodden, the little ones? We all have different definitions of who is in need. Valley prides itself in treating and providing treatment for all people struggling with mental illness. Valley has 63 different programs that provide treatment to those in the most need of assistance. We treat the low to moderate income households that are living with severe to moderate mental illness. What does this mean?
Maria is working two jobs to try and feed her family. She has a son named Michael. Michael is struggling in school since his father was killed last year. Michael acts out in class, doesn’t do his work, and causes general disruptions in the classroom. The teacher continues to contact Maria to ask her to do something. What is Maria to do?
Valley is there for her.
We provide mental and behavioral therapeutic treatment to Michael at his school so Maria doesn’t have to miss work to get him to his appointments. It allows Michael to stay in school while we work with him on setting goals and giving him coping skills to help him with his grief.
Tiffany is a new mother. She has been drinking since high school and believed it was helping her cope with the divorce of her parents. Now that she has had a child she realizes that it is going too far and she needs help.
Valley is there for her.
We provide her with alcohol treatment while allowing her to stay with her child during treatment. She finds new hope in her life and joy in her new baby.
Brent is finally being released from prison. He regrets the life he was living and wants to make a new start with his wife and kids. Brent doesn’t want to end up back to prison.
Valley is there for him.
We have a non-lock down facility where Brent comes to live after his release. We provide counseling, medication, and life skills to Brent to help him transition back into society.
Valley is passionate about helping those in need. As Maya Angelou said, “there is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” Everyone has their own story and Valley is here to help them tell their story and come closer to wellness.
We are making a difference in countless lives. These few examples are only the tip of the iceberg of the kinds of programs Valley provides. Valley cares about it clients and the family members of its clients. We hope to continue to make a difference in society by caring for those most in need.
