The goal of the Utah Avalanche Center is to give people the tools they need to stay on top of the Greatest Snow on Earth.

Along with the Greatest Snow on Earth, Utah has some of greatest avalanche danger in the U.S. We live, work, and play within sight of avalanche terrain. The Utah Avalanche Center helps make backcountry and sidecountry fun and safe by providing up-to-date avalanche forecasts and education and mountain weather forecasts.

Knowing about avalanches is the most effective way to stay safe in avalanche terrain. Our Know Before You Go program is designed to teach young adults about avalanche danger outside of resort boundaries. This free program is presented to over 10,000 people in Utah each year.

We need your help. About 2/3 of our funding comes from donations, grants, and benefit events. Please - if you or your familiy appreciate our services, help us out.

For daily avalanche and mountain weather conditions and forecasts for the Wasatch Front, Back, Logan, LaSal, Manti-Skyline, and Uinta mountains, or to find out how to further your avalanche education, check out www.utahavalanchecenter.org
