The goal of the Utah Avalanche Center is to give people the tools they need to stay on top of the Greatest Snow on Earth.
Utah has some of greatest avalanche danger in the U.S. Avalanches kill more Utahns than any other force of nature. We help keep people alive in the mountains and make backcountry and sidecountry fun by providing up-to-date avalanche forecasts and education and mountain weather forecasts.
Knowing about avalanches is the most effective way to stay safe in avalanche terrain. Our Know Before You Go program is designed to teach young adults about avalanche danger outside of resort boundaries. This free program is presented to over 10,000 people in Utah each year.
We need your help to keep this work up. About 2/3 of our funding comes from donations, grants, and benefit events. Please - if you appreciate our services, help us out.
For daily avalanche and mountain weather conditions and forecasts for the Wasatch front, back, Logan, LaSal, Manti-Skyline, and Uinta mountains, check out www.utahavalanchecenter.org
