Sundance Institute is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the discovery and development of independent artists and audiences.

Engaging Artists and Audiences - The 11.11.11 Live PC Give PC campaign is an exciting day to rally the support for all of Summit County non-profit organizations and promote the vibrant public programming offered to our local residents. Sundance Institute is honored to participate in this campaign and educate the community on our year-round programs and community outreach. Our public programs are designed to offer locals unique cultural experiences that engage them in a global conversation and promote the art of film, the power of storytelling, the journey of the filmmaker, and the exploration of social issues from around the world.

Supporting Sundance Institute through the Live PC Give PC campaign will directly support the following community programs:

  • Filmmakers in the Classroom - An educational program where students and teachers alike have the opportunity to screen Sundance Film Festival films and engage in conversations with Festival filmmakers within their own space at the Park City High School.
  • Sundance Film Festival High School Screenings- Each year, Sundance Institute invites students from Park City and across the Wasatch Front to participate in free, private Festival screenings and Q&A's. These screenings take place at Redstone Cinemas and in Salt Lake City at the Rose Wagoner Performing Arts Center.
  • Sundance Institute Summer Film Series - The screenings take place at City Park, June through August, where families are welcome to picnic and enjoy free outdoor screenings underneath the night's sky. Experience Sundance Film Festival all summer long!
  • Sundance Institute Year-Round Collaborations- Throughout the year the Sundance Institute collaborates with other local businesses and non-profit organizations to enhance their events with Sundance Institute films and filmmakers and offer residents culturally enriched programming.
  • Sundance Film Festival Townie Tuesday Screenings- Townie Tuesday screenings are free community screenings that happen during the Festival and are only offered to Summit County residents (proof of ID required). Residents from Coalville, Kamas, Echo, Henefer, Peoa, Oakley, and Park City are invited to attend.
  • Best of the Festival Screenings- Best of Festival is a free community event that takes place the day after the conclusion of the Sundance Film Festival and showcases select Festival award winning films. These community screenings are offered in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden, and the Sundance Resort.
  • Non-Profit Give-Aways- Sundance Institute supports other local non-profit organizations by giving away Festival ticket packages for silent/live auctions creating strong relationships within the Utah local non-profit community.
  • Community Outreach Tickets- During the Sundance Film Festival, Sundance Institute further supports the community by identifying organizations that would benefit from free tickets to select Festival films with topics that align with the mission and goals of the organization.
  • "Locals-Only" Ticketing- The Institute carves out specific timeslots and fulfillment process to give Summit County locals priority access to Festival ticketing.
