The Arts Council ensures the creative vitality of communities in Summit County by promoting and supporting the arts.
The Park City Summit County Arts Council has been around for more than 25 years as a critical catalyst for artists and arts and culture organizations in Park City and throughout the County. The Arts Council has launched organizations that today are vital parts of the community. Summit County is where big city opportunities are offered in a small town setting, where filmmakers join filmgoers each year for the nation’s largest independent film festival, where an auto repair garage-turned community art gallery provides a forum for the future artists of the community, and where Olympic athletes present their artwork to locals and visitors at an open-air summer market on Historic Main Street in Park City.
The Arts Council also fills gaps -- for instance when the local school district had to cut arts funding, the Arts Council stepped in to organize a task force to ensure that the arts were still available to students.
