Memorial projects designed to improve the educational environment for school children in San Isidro village, Bohol, Philippines
My son, Ron Paul Felt (1981-2004), grew up in Asia and loved assisting less fortunate children. He helped establish a high school service club in Indonesia dedicated to supplying funds for local school children to meet their educational costs.
In 2009 I was introduced to the San Isidro Integrated School, a wonderful little village school in the Philippines that I have chosen to "adopt" in Ron Paul's honor to continue his legacy. Seeing the poor condition of their books, supplies, desks, and playground, I realized that a little generosity can make a huge difference in their lives.
Through charitable community and family support, the Heart Felt Fund has shipped nearly 200 cartons of textbooks, reading materials, and several computers. Since much of their classroom instruction is in English, the new textbooks have already significantly helped raise the students' national test scores!
Each year we provide the growing school with basic school supplies. All the old, decrepit desks have been replaced. We have more books and classroom supplies to ship; however, the school needs dedicated space to house the books and several cartons remain unopened, awaiting a new "home."
Architectural plans are now drawn up for constructing the very first public school library on the island of Bohol. Once completed, it will be named the Ron Paul Felt Memorial Library. Part of the structure will serve as a computer lab.
Your kind donations will directly benefit the students by providing library construction materials, bookcases, much needed textbooks, library books, and classroom supplies. The devoted teachers and bright young children of San Isidro sincerely thank you for your contributions to their education!
